Gary Byrd's Biography

I'm the founder FortyThree, a consumer tech PR agency based in Santa Cruz, Calif. We specialize in gadgets (think MP3 players, mobile/VoIP phones) and Internet services (social networking, cool apps).

I've been in journalism or PR my whole career. Before going to the dark side (ie, PR), I established the Central European news bureau for Knight-Ridder in Prague and served as its bureau chief. At various times - and capacities - I've written for The Economist, London Times, San Jose Mercury and USA Today.

Hobbies: Veteran motorcycles, surfing, snowboarding, gadgets, carpentry
