First time I ever met Dmitry was today (1/30/2007) at the AlwaysOn Media conference when he came up to me to say hi and show me some of the projects he's been working on at Veoh.com. Dmitry founded Veoh Networks in 2004 with a belief that Internet technologies could democratize the distribution of television content, just as they had over the previous decade for text publishing. Since then he has been focused on creating a system that enables anyone with a PC and broadband connection to reach audiences around with world with their programming. Prior to founding Veoh, Dmitry founded Akonix Systems and built the company into a leader in security and management for Instant Messaging and Peer-to-Peer traffic in the enterprise. Akonix deployed over 1,000,000 enterprise seats in leading companies including MTV, Fox News, 20th Century Fox, Viacom, and Disney. Prior to Akonix, Dmitry led the technology group at CollegeClub.com, a 4 million member online social network. Prior to that, Dmitry led the Web technologies group at Fujitsu Business Communications.

Oh yeah, and he went to Georgia Tech... how many key technology entrepreneurs do you know that went to Georgia Tech? He's definitely unique in that regard.
