Jim Gaffigan
Jim Gaffigan's Auto-Biography
James Christopher Gaffigan (born July 7, 1966) is an American stand-up comic and actor. He is best known for his Comedy Central Presents specials, a recurring role on the show My Boys and several nationwide commercials.
Born in Chesterton, Indiana, Gaffigan often pokes fun at his childhood. One of six children, Gaffigan often jokes about growing up in a large, Catholic family. He is married to Jeannie Noth. Gaffigan has one daughter, Marre, and one son, Jack. He is brother to Joe and Mike Gaffigan. Gaffigan is a practicing Catholic.[1]
His comedy routines are known for being deadpan, and often include humorous, high-pitched voices, such as that of a hypothetical audience member commenting on his performance. His performances are also known to commonly include his "dumb-idea guy" gags, during which he does a stereotypical redneck voice, declaring "Hey, I got an idea. How about...?", and going on to expand on the idea. For example, when talking about Hot Pockets, "Hey, I got an idea. How about we fill a poptart with nasty meat?"
Gaffigan is also known for various routines relating to being lazy and eating food, especially famous routines regarding Hot Pockets and bacon. His latest album, Beyond the Pale, consisted primarily of material regarding food. The album was accompanied by an hour long special on Comedy Central of the same name, which was also released on DVD.
Gaffigan is also recognizable for having performed in several comedic commercials for Sierra Mist. He also appeared in two movies chosen for the 2001 Sundance Film Festival: Super Troopers and Thirty Years to Life. Gaffigan is a regular cast member of the TBS original sitcom My Boys.
