What is Renkoo?

Renkoo is about spending time with people you already know and care about -- your real-life, off-line, non-virtual friends.

Renkoo is about giving you the Internet experience you want to have. Our service lets you use the Web, IM, text messages, and email to communicate with your friends wherever you are and however you like.

Renkoo solves a problem we've all had: how does a group of friends decide on a place and time to get together (and maybe also an activity to enjoy)? Preferably without completely filling up your email box or spending all day on the phone :-). We specialize in planning socialevents where you know who you want to hang out with, but you don't know when and where.
About Us

Renkoo started out because our founders were spending all their time dealing with email and IM to arrange everyday social events like lunches, coffee dates, and movies. Joyce just doesn't like email, and Adam gets 300+ a day... plus he hates to repeatedly paste in data like address, map, photo of himself for new acquaintances, etc. We thought there must be a better way... so we recruited a bunch of engineers who were experts at building social networking sites with PHP and Dojo and CSS, found a funder who took a chance on us -- Bob Lisbonne of Matrix Partners (Hi Bob!) -- and started hacking away.
