Facebook Gift Links to New Terminator Salvation iPhone App & Web Series

To coincide with the theatrical release of Terminator Salvation, Warner Bros. continued its social marketing campaign with a free gift on Facebook, today: A terminator head. What better way to say "Thinking of you" then with a prop from a corny sci-fi movie series?

When you click on the icon, you're sent to the Terminator Salvation Facebook page, which a few screenshots of the iPhone App: Terminate Me.The free software allows users to morph a self-portrait to resemble the Terminator endoskeleton. The page also features  a preview of a new web series: Terminator Salvation: The Machinima Series, which replaces Fox ill-fated series: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Terminator's viral sites, resistorbeterminated.com and resistorbeterminated, are fueding with each other to keep fans entertained and engaged. Last night, registered members of resistorbeterminated were prompted to "hack" into Skynet Research with a code provided by Bre Pettis. This morning, Skynet's homepage read: "Recalculating."

We'll see if all of this viral marketing translates to a solid turnout at the box office.
