Wendy's Goes Live with 99 Cent Bid for Value Auction

Fast food value menus have become increasingly popular during these tough economic times, including Wendy's menu, which is the focal point of their new promotion, the 99 Cent Bid for value. The promo, at 99centbidforvalue.com, is a live auction with an unconventional format- You bid "down" an item from its original price, until it reaches $0.99 cents.
When an auction is goes live, you must correctly answer a trivia question to submit a bid. Trivia questions are quick and simple, and you can answer as many as you need before getting one correct.
Each time a contestant submits a bid, the value of the prize will go down by a predetermined increment of $0.99 or less. Increments may change from auction to auction, but will never change mid-auction, so it’s always a fair for every bidder. The average retail value will decrease until it reaches $0.99. The entrant whose Bid causes the Ticker to reach $0.99 will win the slated prize.
To generate a fan following, Wendy's created pages on social networks. Currently, the Bid for Value Auction has 104 followers on Twitter,a Facebook group with 337 members, and a Myspace group with 158 members. . Prizes range from hall of fame basketball autographs to Sumo wrestling suits and Skydiving lessons. Remember, you have to register before you can submit a bid.
