Pelosi Urges Government Intervention to Save Newspapers

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ia asking the Department of Justice for a special hearing to re-classify the San Francisco Chronicle's competition. In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, released by Pelosi's office late Monday, Pelosi wrote:

We must ensure that our policies enable our news organizations to survive and to engage in the news gathering and analysis that the American people expect

Pelosi, the first female Speaker of the House, is from San Francisco. Her hometown paper, the San Francisco Chronicle, is facing  a similar fate of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which is switching to a web-only format, due to rapidly declining ad revenue.

The important question to ask: Are Newspapers worth saving? Gorgeous Julie Alexandria answers that question in this video.
