Friday, February 27, 2009 SocialSurvey: A Free Survey Tool for Facebook & Twitter

Marketing data is everywhere, but to acquire the most valuable stats, you need the right tools. Conventional methods, such as focus groups, mail outs and  e-mail surveys don't always provide sufficient details from target demographics.

If there's one demographic you can gauge with confidence, its your social network,. Why? Because you know the audience. It consists of friends, family and professional acquaintances. Stay N' Alive Productions launched SocialToo to utilize those connections.socialsurvey All that's required is a short registration process with the typical questions: username, password, email, etc.

Within minutes, you can create a multiple-choice survey and post it to your Facebook, FriendFeed and Twitter account. For Facebook, you'll have to add the socialtoo app. I tested it with a question about media preferences.

Social survey is simple to use and easy to implement, the only downside is the limited breakdown of results. You can see the raw number of votes, and percentages by answer, but you can't see how each individual friend voted. If you're searching for an easy tool to gauge the preferences of your social network, is a great place to start.
