No Fat Tuesday Specials at Ruby Tuesday

Of all days for Ruby Tuesday to have a special, you'd think it would be today: Fat Tuesday, the last day of Mardi Gras and the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.
I checked the Ruby Tuesday online menu and the only prominent ad read "In the mood for seafood". Evidently, there was no Fat Tuesday special at Ruby Tuesday- Bummer. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called a chain to ask about any specials. The worker I spoke with kindly and humbly informed me that there were no specials to commemorate the day, but he did a great job telling me about the daily specials and took it all in good spirit, so he deserves no criticism whatsoever, only the marketing heads.
Me: I was wondering what kind of Fat Tuesday specials you have?
R.T. worker: Right now, um, nothing.
Me: Even on Fat Tuesday? Nothing?
R.T. worker: No.
Me: But you're Ruby Tuesday
RT worker: I know.... We always have happy hour from 4-7 every day, with $3 drafts on our domestics and we always have four dollar sangrias, we have pink red and white. We have $5 dollar margaritas and we have a $5 drink of the day.
Me: Well you should tell the guys who run the show that Fat Tuesday is the ideal day to put some kind of special together.
R.T. worker: Absolutely.
This isn't the first time I've criticized Ruby Tuesday. You may recall my post from last fall, when I questioned the angle of their viral ad campaign. I promise I'm not getting paid by TGI Fridays, I just couldn't believe they dropped the ball on the perfect day to capitalize on their name and lure customers. Speaking of TGI Fridays, they might lose a notable amount of customers each friday for the next 40 days. During lent, Catholics tend to fast from meat on Fridays.
On a site note, today is also National Pancake Day, and IHOP is giving away free pancakes shortstacks. Donations are encouraged and all donations will go to the Childrens Miracle Network.
