Adify Buy an Endorsement of Vertical Networks

Cox Communications' purchase of vertical advertising network technology company Adify for $300 million is proof positive that generic ad networks aren't sufficient for today's online marketing needs.

Congrats to Russ Fradin and the team at Adify, with whom I've partnered with on my rich media publishing company and sustainable ad network. Cox will benefit from owning Adify because the newspaper and cable companies will be able to maximize their online CPMs. Cox will be able to break down its content into vertical segments and increase the revenue by targeting the audience.

Advertising is a multimedia endeavor, and Adify will help Cox to target consumers with video and text-based advertising. As companies cross over between print, online and cable, they need to manage campaigns centrally and target effectively. Vertical networks will be a big part of the solution.
