Amazon Affiliates to Sell Products Via Videos

Amazon is getting into the performance-based advertising business, according to TechCrunch. The company developed technology so that anyone can overlay products for sale on top of videos that can be distributed as widgets.

I would have expected this from Google or one of the video ad networks. Since Amazon wants to push product through its affiliates though, it also makes sense for them.

So now we can expect to see videos with overlay product placement on personal pages and affiliate sites everywhere. Amazon will also have to screen for copyright infringement because taking a popular video as a means to sell stuff will be very enticing.
