WebReader Keeps Mobile Phones Updated

Mobile phones are becoming even more useful for keeping up with news and social network content thanks to the FreeRange WebReader.

FreeRange has offered RSS readers for mobile phones for several years, and this new application expands the functionality to allow viewing virtually any web content, including weather, photos from Flickr or Photobucket, and stock updates. You can also synch the reader with your Google Reader data, add del.icio.us tags, or get updates on saved keyword searches.

The WebReader works in the background, so depending on the memory capacity of your phone, you can have plenty of information to browse even when you are out of range.

Pity the poor PDAs such as Palm that no longer make sense as stand alone devices. Just about anything you want can be had in a phone.
