Google Reader Gets Upgrade

I've switched back and forth between several RSS readers, and a tweak to Google Reader has me impressed enough to standarize on it for a while.

Reader has been upgraded to include drag and drop moving of feeds, which finally gets them on par with many other readers.

I'm even more appreciative of the the Discovery feature, which pointed me to several new blogs and news sites that were related to my current feeds. You can get similar related links from del.icio.us, but the quality of the RSS feeds from Reader was most impressive.

RSS feed reading is still way too convoluted for most folks, which is limiting its adoption. The Google toolbar is another good way to quickly add and browse feeds. The browsers should all include buttons on their toolbars for feed reading and not require third-party solutions if RSS is ever going to come close to its potential.
