Hey Jason, glad we found each other! It was nice to meet you in person, and I'm glad I got a chance to meet Thomas and the other folks too. :)

Same here Matt... The dragnet had been laid and Barry Schwartz, Ben Pfeiffer, Jason Shellen and a few others were on the lookout so it was only a matter of time before you were located :)

How did this blog get in Google Alerts?

Oh, there is Matt Cutts! Hi Matt! ;)

Gaming Google Alerts is nothing.

Yeah? I do not understand Google alerts care to teach me or point me in the right direction, I would enjoy some extra traffic, does it really require gaming? You can email me if you like, thanks..

There are two kinds of Google Alerts, one is a private company [http://www.googlealert.com/] using Google's commercial api and the other is a free service from Google themselves.

Whenever there is a new search url that shows up in Google's search results for your query, you'll receive an alert... that's pretty much it.

Maybe you are not understanding me Jason, this post you made was emailed to me via google alerts for "Matt Cutts". I have a handful of blogs but never appear in Google Alerts sent via email, you do so I wanted to know how and why, thanks. :)

Because we're syndicated in Google News and those get put into the Alerts database immediately if they match the query string you're looking for.
