RSS Ads Get Traction
RSS marketer Pheedo says that standalone RSS ads yield much higher click through rates than inline ads. RSS ads must mature to include more formatting and interactivity (like coupons) to increase their visibility and CTR.
But most people who use RSS aggregators don't venture far from their initial clicks as 90 percent say they don't leave the aggregator environment when the are reading feeds, according to Pheedo. I'm shocked that the percentage is that high as I would assume that readers would frequently find related content of interest.
Not surprising is that 84 percent of publishers produce summary feeds instead of giving the entire article away in a feed.
I'm interested in knowing what percentage of commercial publishers have introduced ads, and what is the average percentage of feed subscribers who read the feed every day.
