Online Classifieds Growing Faster Than Offline Classified Ads, Duh!

I found an touting the growth of online classified ads and how those online classifieds are growing faster than offline classifieds like newspapers and journals. Give me a break. Of course they're growing faster. I mean come on, there's virtually no growth in offline classifieds or newspapers and most newspapers are in serious financial trouble. Take USAToday for example, they're just up the street from me and they can't hire right now because they're not making enough money to even replace employees that are leaving.

Online classifieds are growing faster than offline classifieds, gimme abreak, tell me something I don't already know.

"In the second quarter 2004, revenues for the three leading national online job boards were up 38 percent compared to a year ago, according to estimates released Thursday by Corzen Inc. During the same period, print recruitment advertising in daily newspapers was up only 20 percent, according to estimates released by the Newspaper Association of America."
