Official Google Blog Now Online!

Here's a letter I wrote to Evan about the new Google blog and what I think of it.

What do you guys think about their new official blog?

Evan,

I'm glad to see you've been able to implement an "official" blog
for Google. Hopefully, you'll be able to use it as a medium to
keep the tech community one step ahead of archaic news agencies
that don't realize the impact blogs will continue to make on their
industry. By posting updates on whatever Google deems of interest
to the general tech community you'll continue to sew the seeds of
trust and loyalty that got Google where it is today.

In other words, the blog is a great idea and will do well if it's
not "corporatized". Serg and Larry seem dedicated to running the
company the way they see fit and I think the blog will fit well into
that strategy. To that end I wish you the best of luck.

One thing I believe folks would love to see is different perspectives
from anonymous Google employees. Whether they're AdWords account reps, algorithm engineers, hard drive swappers :), or office administrators.
Put their views and thoughts on the blog and you've got the makings of
an exciting and intimate view of the world's leading search engine.
